We have two opportunities to live and collaborate with us either in the greater Boston area or in the Berkshire Mountains in northern Massachusetts. Would you like to live and work with a team committed to serving deep transformations in the human-earth community relationship? We are looking for people who would like to be living rEvolutionaries with us in one of two capacities. Please read on for more information.

2023 Living rEvolution Childcare and Household Team Member

Join the Living rEvolution team

Pequosette/Massachusett land
157 Common Street, Watertown, MA

Would you like to be part of a household and collaborative team that lives and works together part time with the purpose of supporting a transformation – a revolution and an evolution — a living rEvolution — of human relationships from ones based on extraction, devastation, genocide and ecocide to ones of healing, reciprocity, and regeneration?

We — Aravinda Ananda and Joseph Rotella — are looking for someone to join our Living rEvolution household and team in Watertown, MA, for a minimum commitment of a year starting either December 2022 or January 2023. In previous years, space has been available in our home for work exchange and people helped with gardening, cooking, cleaning, food preservation, chicken care, hosting groups (we hosted a monthly house meditation and dinner at our house for 5 years, as well as various workshops), workshop development, local activism and other Living rEvolution activities. This coming year we are seeking support in another major way - childcare - as we are expecting the birth of a child in September. We know it takes a village to raise a child, and having extra support within the home is an important part of that for us.

Housemates would be asked to contribute 30 hours per week and what we can offer is a private bedroom with access to a shared kitchen, living room, bathroom, laundry, some food sharing (beyond what is grown in the gardens and preserved, we can also cover some bulk food purchasing for the household), and a $900 monthly stipend.

If interested, please click the button below to read the full invitation to learn more details and to fill out a form if you would like explore joining the team in this way.

Starseed Healing Sanctuary live-in stewards and partners

Mahican land
672 Chapel Road, Savoy, MA

We, Aravinda and Joseph have been part-time, long-distance partners with Aravinda’s mother Satyena Ananda in the care of 150 acres and several buildings in western Massachusetts where Starseed Healing Sanctuary is located.

Starseed is an earth-based healing sanctuary, holistic retreat center and developing intentional community dedicated to personal and planetary transformation. The Ananda family moved there 33 years ago, and various sacred and ceremonial sites have been constructed and cultivated around the land such as a peace labyrinth and a medicine wheel circle.

Starseed has been a primary location where we have offered Living rEvolution programming in the past and hope it will continue to be a center for living the rEvolution.

Sanctuary partners, Regenerative Farmers and caretakers needed

Although moving toward retirement age, Satyena continues to be the main caretaker of the land, offering various interfaith spiritual programs and personal retreats. We are looking for partners to join her to carry on the next generation of leadership at Starseed, and are also looking for short-term people who would like to live on the land in community and help with taking care of the Sanctuary. Aravinda has been the primary groundskeeper for over 20 years, and as much as she loves mowing meditation, she would like to pass that role on to someone else.

We have also been involved over the years with establishing a regenerative farm there and have built a hoop house to extend the growing season, enlarged the already existing vegetable garden, planted numerous perennial berry bushes and fruit trees, and kept bees for 8 years.

In addition to groundskeeping and gardening, people who live at Starseed also help with supporting retreats and programs by cleaning bedrooms and common spaces between guests and hosting guests.

Please see the Starseed website for more information about Starseed.

Please contact us if you are interested in short-term stewardship for the 2022 fall and winter, or to enquire about long-term partnership.
